Meraki was started in 2006 by a group of Cisco employees that left to start a cloud-based wifi system at MIT. It was later bought by Cisco in 2012 for 1.2 billion and is now Cisco's fastest-growing division. Unlike traditional wifi access points, no on-site controller is needed. Instead, each AP communicates with the cloud making the network easier to manage and deploy. The software that runs on the cloud is incredibly powerful and simply put Meraki devices just work. As a 'born in the cloud' company at Tech Plus we have supported and sold Meraki products since the beginning.
